Our mangers in order
Put them in order best first

Lyall
Macari
Bonds
Redknapp
Roeder
Pardew
Curbs
Zola
Grant
Substantial Samuel

2 groups there for me and that bottom group is big and utter shit.
1) Lyall - 85-86
2) Bonds - legend and best win ratio
3) Curbs - nothing special but did ok
4) Redknapp - 5th in 98-99 was good
5) Pardew - FA Cup was good but not much else
6) Macari - thieving jock cunt, enough for a yes vote by himself
7) Zola - good football at times but shit management
8) BFS - pains me but he isn't the shittest IMHO
9) Roeder - had the decency to be genuinely ill when he left
10) Grant - never been so depressed by a manager in my life

Roeder gets special points for being our only permanent manager Wikipedia couldn't find anything to say about, good or bad. Cunt

Any list that has Roeder above Pardew, and even our current Manager, must have been compiled by a simpleton.

Greenwood definitely the best for me.

Re: Our mangers in order
Agreed that Roeder above Pardew makes you a simpleton which is why I have Pardew at 5 and Roeder at 9. BFS is a cunt and I want him gone but he hasn't relegated us yet so can't be below some of them, plus the squad right now is decent. Only time has Roeder ahead or Pardew, not much I can do about that.

Apologies on Greenwood but I was born in 74 so never saw us under him so couldn't really comment on supporting under his reign

WTF is Curbs doing at number 3?

Biggest transfer budget of any manager we've ever had. Bought a load of shit. Couldn't finish higher than Pardew, Zola and Roeder all did in their first ever seasons as PL managers.

I'd put him just above Allardyce.

Once again someone can't wait to call someone else a simpleton (why has that word become so popular?) and they actually end up making themselves look like a prize cock.

Re: Our mangers in order
First list is obviously chronological in order of managing...second is obviously the posters evaluation...

Can't agree on Curbishley...BFS should be higher...worst is Grant...Zola should be lower...

I wasn't around for Lyall ...Bonds...Macari ...or most of Redknapp...

First year Roeder did well...second no cash and illness...

Pardew was very good until he lost the dressing room and off pitch shenanigans...

Zola was naive...too easily manipulated by Nani & Duxbury ...

Curbishley was boring...bad buying decisions...took too long to get US safe from delegation...had 21 games to do it...went to last day at OT ...

Grant was incompetent and had switched off...couldn't manage average players or motivate them...

BFS is boring...but has done everything asked of him...except attractive football...

What about Sir Trevor of Brooking?

Why isn't he listed?

Re: Our mangers in order
From King to Lyall was probably West Ham for me. Might have rose tinted specs on after reading the history books but the Club seemed to be run the right way and it had an identity certainly epitomised IMO by Greenwood and Lyall. Yes some god awful results along the way but under them it was what West Ham was all about. A lot of it died after they sacked Lyall.

It was West Ham again under Billy and whatever you think of him Harry carried on the tradition but it's been a different Club since.

If we'd have kept curbs we would have out-performed Everton and be in a much stronger position because of it.

where were you?

I wasn't around for Bonds Macari and the beginning of Redknapp

Reason?

I was in the States and the internet wasn't around yet, well it was around but fuck all much was on it and I expect Tex has the same reason?
